PageCapture Privacy Policy
Full Page Screenshot – Scroll Area Capture creates screenshots from web content that the user
explicitly chooses in the active Chrome tab. It provides full-page,
visible-area, and scroll-area capture, PNG and PDF saving, and
Clipboard copying.
Data handled during capture
When the user starts a capture, the extension temporarily processes
the visible website content and page structure needed to identify the
requested area, scroll it, capture frames, combine the frames, and
restore the page. Depending on the page selected by the user, captured
content may include website content, personal communications, or
user-generated content. The current tab URL is read only as needed to
determine whether Chrome permits capture; it is not stored or used in
the output filename.
Local processing
Capture frames and generated images are processed locally in the
user’s browser. The extension does not upload screenshots, page text,
emails, conversations, form values, full URLs, cookies, authentication
tokens, or browsing-history lists to a server operated by the publisher.
Local storage
Chrome Storage contains limited preferences and non-content state,
including language, theme, default output format, filename timestamp
preference, result-view preference, and neutral review-prompt state.
During a capture, frames, PNG segments, and a generated PDF may be
written to extension-private IndexedDB so long captures do not require
every artifact to remain in memory. This temporary capture store is not
shared with websites or a publisher server.
Capture result retention
Temporary capture artifacts are retained only for the time needed to
complete the capture and allow the user to save or copy the result.
They are deleted after completed-job cleanup, cancellation, failure,
Result View close, or result-session expiry. Orphaned temporary
artifacts are cleared when the local processing context starts again.
Files saved by the user and images copied to the clipboard are controlled
by the user and the destination application.
Sharing and sale
The extension does not sell user data. It does not share capture content
with advertising platforms, analytics providers, data brokers, or other
third parties. The publisher does not have a server that allows staff to
view a user’s captures.
Advertising and analytics
Version 1 contains no advertising SDK, advertising interface, advertising
network request, remote analytics SDK, or behavioral tracking. User data
is not used for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or lending purposes.
Permissions
activeTab is used only after the user chooses a capture
mode and provides temporary access to the current tab.
scripting injects packaged capture and selection code into
that tab. downloads saves a PNG or PDF only after the user
requests it, including deterministic multi-part output.
storage keeps limited local preferences and non-content
state. offscreen supports local image, Canvas, Blob, PDF,
and temporary capture-artifact work. Copy to Clipboard is performed from
the Result View during the user’s click with the browser Clipboard API, so
clipboardWrite is not requested. The extension does not request
clipboardRead, history, cookies, identity, debugger, or broad permanent
host access.
External links and support
External Support, Privacy Policy, or Chrome Web Store review pages open
only after the user selects the relevant link. Capture content and
diagnostic data are not automatically attached or transmitted. If a user
contacts Support, the user decides what information to include.
User choices and deletion
Users may reset capture settings from the Options page. Uninstalling the
extension removes extension-controlled local storage through Chrome.
Users control any PNG or PDF files they saved and any content they copied
to another application.
Security
The extension uses packaged Manifest V3 code and does not execute remotely
hosted code. It limits access to the active tab after a user action and
releases capture resources after use.
Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome
Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes
If the extension’s data practices change, this policy, the Chrome Web Store
privacy disclosures, and the in-product disclosure will be updated before
the changed practice is introduced. Material changes will not be hidden in
release notes alone.

tokens, or confidential page content unless you intentionally choose to do so.
