Privacy Policy
This policy applies to the PagePin web notes, checklists, and reminders Chrome extension.
Notes and settings are stored in your local Chrome profile by default. The PagePin developer does not operate an account system, sync server, or external notes database. Notes, page content, and visited URLs are not passed to the Side Panel ad.
1. Scope and contact
For privacy or data-processing questions, email abcdejoji@gmail.com.
2. Information stored locally
The Extension may store the following in your Chrome profile:
- Notes, checklists, reminders, tags, priority, color, and completion state
- Selected text, surrounding context, source anchors, and reading position
- Page title, original and normalized URL, domain, and timestamps
- Language, theme, blocked domains, URL rules, and other settings
- Local review-prompt state and content-free diagnostic status
This information is stored mainly in chrome.storage.local. If you allow the Extension in Incognito, data in that environment may be managed separately.
3. What we do not collect or operate
- No PagePin account, first-party cloud sync server, or external notes database
- No intentional collection of passwords, API keys, or payment credentials
- No personalized advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking based on notes or browsing history
When composing a feedback email, browser environment details and the current page URL are included only if you select the related options. You can review and edit the email before sending it.
4. Advertising service
One PlayaYield ad may appear in the Extension’s Side Panel. To deliver and measure the ad, the provider may process an IP address, approximate region, browser, operating system, device type, language, Extension identifier, request time, impressions, clicks, and performance data.
The Extension does not send notes, checklists, reminders, selected text, page content or titles, visited URLs, search terms, tags, or source anchors as advertising parameters. The ad is not configured for personalized or cross-site behavioral advertising. See the PlayaYield Privacy Policy for more information.
Advertising initializes after the first-use privacy and advertising notice is shown. You can close the ad for the current Side Panel session, but no 24-hour or permanent hide option is provided. A failed ad never blocks the notes features.
5. Chrome permissions and purposes
The Extension does not request tabs, history, cookies, webRequest, or clipboard permissions, and it does not execute remotely hosted JavaScript.
6. Retention, export, and deletion
Data may remain locally until you delete a note, clear the Extension’s storage, or remove the Extension from Chrome. Before clearing data or uninstalling, you can export a backup in JSON or PagePin Markdown format. The developer cannot recover deleted local data.
7. Security and Limited Use
Data is kept in Chrome’s extension storage and used only to provide the disclosed features. We follow the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not sell user data or use it for credit, lending, insurance, or employment decisions. No extension can eliminate every risk if your device or Chrome profile is compromised.
8. Children, changes, and your choices
The Extension is not directed to children under 13. If this policy changes, we will update the effective date and may provide notice through the Extension or its distribution page for material changes. You may view, edit, export, or delete local data at any time.
